What I’ve Done

Technology Specialist, Heineken
June 2024 - present
Developing at Scale
I was attracted to the company because of the scale and ambition of the transformation project. This initiative is, by far, the largest digitalization effort I have been involved in. This role provided an oportunity to transition from manufacturing operations to the IT domain, offering extremely valuable experience and significantly enhancing my understanding of information technology. It marks an important milestone in my digitalization career.
As part of the implementation and development team, my responsibilities include master data migration, cloud solutions development, ERP integration (SAP), data transformation (Databricks, Power BI), and shop floor execution (Parsable). Through this experience, I have gained a comprehensive understanding of both Operational Technology (OT) and Information Technology (IT), recognizing them as two sides of the same coin.

Digitalisation Manager, Umicore
January 2024 - June 2023
Setting up a New Foundation
During this short assignment, I had the opportunity to gain valuable experience working on a greenfield project, where a newly built mega-factory needed to meet rigorous standards set by the parent company. My responsibilities included identifying digitalization opportunities, preparing project proposals, securing budgets, and overseeing project execution.
One particularly interesting aspect of this role was working with simulation software (AnyLogic). During my time at Umicore, I led an initiative to build an internal logistics model based on the actual factory layout and real production capacities. Although my assignment was brief, it was a highly rewarding and fruitful experience that significantly enhanced my skills in digital transformation and project management.

Guiding our organization through this transformative journey, I am responsible for creating and implementing a comprehensive strategy that aligns our manufacturing processes with the requirements of Industry 4.0. This encompasses identifying suitable technological solutions, assessing financial feasibility, and nurturing relationships with key stakeholders. Additionally, I actively engage in the digitalization and automation community, which spans across multiple continents. By staying connected with professionals worldwide and participating in global industry events, I bring valuable insights and best practices to our digital transformation efforts. Through my leadership and involvement, I aim to drive sustainable growth and contribute to the advancement of digitalization on a global scale.
